Universitetskapprodden

Our club has organized many competitions over the years but our most important race is Universitetskapprodden, a challenge between Uppsala and Lund university, this challenge led to the founding of our club in 1992.

 

  • Held even-numbered years in Uppsala as a 500 m sprint
  • Held even-numbered years in Malmö

Head of Fyris

Head of Fyris was organized for the first time in 2012 when Uppsala Academic Rowing Society (UARS) celebrated 20 years. Since 2017, UARS has organized Head of Fyris annually on River Fyris just south of  Uppsala. The focus of the race is to highlight the important role of the coxswain on a challenging and narrow river such as Fyris.

  • Distance: 3 km (ca 2 miles), head race (individual start)
  • Boat classes: All boat classes permitted
  • Start: next to the Flottsund bridge
  • Mål: Steamboat dock close to the UARS dock
  • Trophies: Johanna Andersson’s Trofé for the fastest coxed crew and SJK's Initio Cup for the fastest coxed beginner crew.
