Uppsala academic rowing society is a rowing club with an aim at everyone interested in rowing, from beginners to lesure and competitive rowers.
Founded by students in 1992 we today hold weekly trainings and participate in leisure rowing as well as different competitions and regattas on the water as well as on the erg. We represent both the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) and Uppsala University (UU) at student championships but university affiliation is not at all necessary to be a member of the club. The club is also one of Sweden’s largest student rowing clubs and is affiliated with both the Swedish Academic Sports Federation and the Swedish Rowing Federation.
The club is steady at around 100 members and is Uppsala’s only rowing club. The club participates in several competitions and also organises a number of them. Recurring highlights are the University Race between Uppsala and Lund and Head of Fyris, our own rowing competition.
